Description of the training

This online OHS course outlines methods, techniques and conditions of storage for all types of hazardous materials and identifies incompatibilities between different hazardous materials. It also describes the emergency equipment required when handling and using these products.

After completing this course, participants will be able to transport and store different types of hazardous materials in accordance with the information on the safety data sheets. Workers will also learn the basic principles to follow when transferring a hazardous material into a container and the conditions for using a retention tank. Storage guidelines are also provided to ensure compatibility between products stored together.

This online health and safety course also discusses how to use certain equipment in the event of an accident or spill. It outlines the conditions of use and precautions to be taken when using eye wash stations or other rinsing equipment, such as showers and eye rinses, and explains how to maintain these devices.

This course is based on the Regulation Respecting Occupational Health and Safety (RROHS), which is the reference tool in Quebec for prevention in all workplaces.
